Driven by a lifetime passion for ice cream, San Diego resident Daniel Szpak co-founded Hammond’s Gourmet Ice Cream in North Park in 2014. Daniel eventually sold his share in the company, but his passion for ice cream continued. In 2019, he turned that passion into purpose (and also more ice cream) by creating Scoop San Diego to celebrate people’s shared love of ice cream as a catalyst for social connection and human compassion. Inspired to make a difference, Daniel is fulfilling his dream of bringing the best local ice cream and gelato shops together in one place for San Diego’s original and only ice cream festival.
